REALIZE THE POWER OF DIAGRAMMING Diagramming The most powerful aspect of the REM engine is its ability to visually demonstrate to the end user, flow within your organization. In itself, this is a tremendous asset to any healthcare organization, and results in substantial savings in time and money. The REM toolset includes a diagramming tool that allows the Rapid Modeling team to model flow for patient, hospital resources, doctors, nurses, auxiliary labor, cost, and numerous other variables in a layout. We first layout the organization infrastructure using AutoCADr14 format, and then proceed to scale the flow lines which clearly represent the intensity of the flow. This approach provides an accurate graphical representation of material flow, resulting in maximum optimization. Once the data templates have been populated, the diagramming engine will complete a visual diagram layout in less than 60 seconds. |

To better understand the diagramming techniques used in the REM
methodology, let us walk you briefly through the various diagrams used to
ensure optimum outcome for your healthcare facility
Euclidian Diagram The first diagram used is a Euclidian diagram or a point-to-point diagram (as illustrated below). This diagram demonstrates the strength of the relationships between locations. The goal is to minimize the length of the thicker flow lines; in other words to ensure that those locations which have larger amounts of flow are closer in proximity. Patient types can be diagrammed individually, represented by the different colored flow lines, or all patient types can be diagrammed together. Example Euclidian Diagram |

The diagramming engine is built with AutoCAD and it is highly capable of calculating intensity, travel distance (ft), and associated and accurate cost for each move. This capability allows the Rapid Modeling team to summarize the total travel distance in a layout, such as your healthcare organization, and quickly determine optimum flow routes and create superior layouts. As illustrated in the images above, you can easily view the flow statistics from the perspective of the Patient, Doctor, or Nurse. Additionally, you can view the flow statistics from the perspective of a specific location within a hospital or health facility. The team at Rapid Modeling, using our REM methodology would be happy to discuss your requirements; and design custom reports to ensure the needs of your organization, are not only met but also exceeded |
